Tour Program

1. Day WELCOME TO ISTANBUL

Meet at 1 p.m. in our hotel located at Istanbul's historic Sultanahmet district. Shortly after, we'll take a walk to the city's iconic Galata Bridge and have a Bosphorus Cruise to chill and enjoy the great view of Bosphorus. We'll end our day with a welcome dinner in a local restaurant ( D ) overnight Istanbul

2. Day THRACE; DRIVE THROUGH TO the HEART of WINE

Say goodbye to Istanbul this morning, drive west along the vineyards of Thrace on the European continent.

At one of Turkey’s most celebrated wineries we’ll taste some of the region's wines, and enjoy a privately arranged winery lunch with wine pairings.  Drive to Edirne on the border of Bulgaria.  Edirne was the second capital city of the emerging Ottoman state and their first stronghold in Europe. 3. Day IMPERIAL CAPITAL EDIRNE

Edirne is one of the most captivating cities of Turkey on Northwestern border. Almost for 100 years, it was the capital of Ottomans thus it was decorated with amazing Ottoman architectural mosques, caravansaraies and bazaars. Edirne Old Mosque, masterpiece Unesco WH site Selimiye Mosque that was built by legendary Architect Sinan who also built Suleymaniye of Istanbul. Later, we will stroll the colourful bazaar of Edirne and arrive to Great Synagogue. After that we will visit the Complex of Sultan Beyazid II, which was served as the most famous  assylum of its time. We will end the day at the top of 16C Ottoman bridge with amazing sunset on Meric River. ( B )

4. Day MEMORIES of GALLIPOLI

This morning, we continue on to the Gallipoli Peninsula, which allied troops tried to invade by sea during WWI. Due in part to the inspiring leadership of a junior Turkish officer — who later took the name "Atatürk" — the allies were forced to retreat; and a revitalized Turkey found its hero who saved Turkey from being divided amongst other countries, and who founded the Turkish Republic.  After a tour of  WWI sites, we will catch a ferry from Europe to Asia crossing the Dardanelles Strait.  Later, we'll tour the ruins of Ancient Troy, mythical site of Homer's Iliad, Helen and the Trojan Horse.

Beyond the mythology, our tour will reveal the many layers of history that exist beneath our feet. We will stay 2 nites in Adatepe village that lies at the western slopes of Mount Ida, overlooking the Aegean Sea and Lesbos Island. ( B )

5. Day

We will walk through Adatepe’s center dominated by two huge plane-trees and pass by the evergreen cypresses of the village cemetery the path leads you to the hill where the Altar of Zeus is located. Here the view is breathtaking and you will be fascinated by the smell of thousands of herbs and wild flowers mixed with the soft 'meltem' wind coming from the Aegean Sea. Later we will visit Olive Oil Museum and taste the great nectar of the Gods. Free time on late afternoon on the village. (B )

6. Day AYVALIK – SEAFOOD CAPITAL of TURKEY

After morning drive and our traditional bus lectures, we'll take a walking tour through the narrow backstreets of old Ayvalık, a charming outdoor museum of picturesque shuttered houses. During the walk, we will learn why Ayvalik was an independent entity during the Ottoman Imperial period with rights to mint their own money and discover the historic secrets, as well as meadering its Aegean style churches and mosques. If weather permits, we will have 2 hours boat cruise in through the Ayvalik archipelago. ( B, L )

7. Day THE THRONE of SATAN ; PERGAMON

On our way south, we'll tour the ancient city of Pergamum, home to one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. Perched high atop its Acropolis, Pergamum's Ancient Theater and Temple of Trajan are two of the most beautifully-situated ruins in the ancient world.  The theatre was built on the steep mountain side, affording spectacular views!  Drive to Kusadasi ( B, D )

8. Day DISCOVER SOME VILLAGES & HIDDEN WINELAND

 

Mornıng we wıll take our breakfast ın the fırst organıc vıllage of turkey, kırazlı. Tradıtıonal Turkısh breakfast servıce wıth at least 10 up to 12 dıfferent dıshes wıll be a feast for all of us. Later we wıll drıve to sırınce vıllage whıch ıs 600 years old greek vıllage famous wıth fruıts wınes. After wıne tastıng & strollıng ın vıllage, we wıll proceed to kusadası and vısıt hıstorıcal castle . Later on we have optıonal turkısh bath experıence … ( B, D )

9. Day HELLENISTIC IONIA - PRIENE ANCIENT CITY & DIDYMA APOLLO TEMPLE & ZEUS TEMPLE OF EUROMOS

This was once a harbour city but is now located 10 miles inland from the sea on the hills of the Mykale Mountain. It has many examples of Hellenic art and architecture. The theater in Priene is one of the most beautiful ones from The Hellenic World. The Athena Polias Temple was reconstructed by Alexander The Great as a gift to the city. After Priene, we will drive through Didyma temple of Apollo, almost 2400 years old. It was one of the biggest and famous temples of hellenistic World, a 120-columned temple to Apollo that is often compared to the temple of the Oracle of Delphi in Greece. On the way to Bodrum, you will have a short Kodak moment in front of Zeus temple from 2 C AD. Tonite we will arrive Bodrum. ( B, L )

10. Day VILLAGE EXPERIENCE : ETRIM VILLAGE

Experience the rhythms of rural life in Turkey on a tour to a small village near Bodrum. This village is almost 400 years old , still surviving with agriculture, animal husbandry and traditional carpet weaving.  Engin who is our local host, will take us for great orientation about the life of Etrim, let us visit some local homes and introduce his mother who is the master weaver of all region. She will teach you all knotting techniques and teach you how to prepare some local food as well. Their lunch is the ace of the tour and you will get a chance to see their great carpets and kilims. After this great mingling with locals we will visit the Hellenistic theatre and stroll on the bazaar Street of Bodrum downtown. ( B,L )

11. Day LETS BECOME CRUSADERS

We will start a day with a nice walk through St Peter castle that is a beautiful old crusaders castle that holds a lots of history inside her walls, a perfect time machine for those who wish to go back in time. It has a underwater archaeological museum where u may experience the ruins and Cargo of shipwrecks discovered by spounge hunters. Later on if weather permits, we will have 2 hrs boat cruise through Black island or Camel beach area. Late afternoon we will have an happy hour  with local wines on historical Windmills of Bodrum where you may take the best picturs of St. Peter Castle. ( B,L )

12. Day LAST DAY in ISTANBUL

Early flight to my beloved city. First visit the Spice Market for your last minute needs in your kitchen. Later on, I would love to introduce you my unknown modern city and financial district, where White collars of the city live and work. Tonite we will have the last supper in Sultanahmet area.

13. Day DEAPARTURE FOR HOME

Those who wish to extend their stay in Istanbul, please inform our office in advance so we can book your preferred hotels.
